WOODEN WEAVING FRAME / LOOM SMALL (15cm) ~ GLUCKSKAFER
by Gluckskafer
A wonderful way to introduce children to the traditional craft of weaving with this small rectangular weaving frame by Gluckskafer that creates weavings up to 15cm wide.
This simple wooden loom for kids is made up of a wooden frame with notches along lengthwise to thread your yarn (warp) with two shuttles to hold your horizontal yarn (weft) for weaving, and a stop comb to push your weaving down the loom – wool not included.
Weaving is a highly tactile experience and a fun, creative Waldorf handwork activity. It is taught in Waldorf Schools worldwide from around the age of 6 and projects can range from beginner to advanced.
This simple fixed length loom is a great loom to start your weaving journey. We also sell yarn/warp separately.
Children will love getting creative with this loom, and don’t be confined to yarn – try experimenting with strips of different fabrics, or even natural materials such as grasses and stems.
Finished weavings can be displayed as wall hangings, placemats and works of art. Weaving is a therapeutic craft that can be picked up easily and keeps little hands busy.
This kit includes 2 shuttles, comb and side wire to help create straight edges on the weaving – wool is not included. Yarn/weft sold separately.
