LANDSCAPE PLAY SILK ~ RIVER ~ FORAGED & FOUND
Foraged and Found ‘Landscape Collection’ of play silks.
This one of a kind ‘River’ play silk features a soft mint green base colour with a blue river running through, all naturally dyed.
The River play silk is perfect for small world play and storytelling. Use cushions/ boxes/ baskets underneath the silk to create hills and other types of terrain, use pebbles or pieces of wood to create stepping stones, bridges, walls or fences. Build a small house with wooden blocks and use this play silk as the garden. Or simply wear as a beautiful flowing cape. The possibilities are truly endless.
These large play-silks, made from Habotai silk are slightly thicker and more durable than the Paj play silks. They are less transparent, making them an excellent choice for pieces with more colour details, yet still beautifully light, a true sensory delight.
The way they move through the air is enough to mesmerise a child, let alone the many other ways in which they can be integrated into play.
This toy can evolve with your child, from games of peek-a-boo as a baby, to a cape or dance streamer for a toddler, to more involved imaginary play for the older child such as landscapes for small world play. The uses really are infinite and you will be filled with wonder watching your little one putting their imagination to work with this open-ended toy.
Dimensions: approx 90 x 90 cm
100% Habotai Silk, naturally dyed.
*Please note, each silk will vary slightly.
You may notice some variations in the depth of colour on your play-silk, this is due to the nature of natural dyes, you may find some areas are more saturated than others. I like to think this sets the product apart from it’s synthetically dyed counterparts – and in our studio we believe strongly in embracing serendipity.
Caring for your naturally dyed play-silk
Gently hand wash in lukewarm water using a mild detergent and cool iron. Please do not dry clean as the chemicals used will destroy the dyes. Botanically dyed textiles, like all fabrics, will fade over time if left in direct sunlight.
Natural dyes are sensitive to citric acids (found in lemons, grapefruit, oranges, tomatoes etc) which will ‘bleach’ the fibres.
Please note actual colours may vary. It’s important to note that they may look different on a real product than what you see on your computer monitor. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours and that everyone sees these colours differently. We try to edit our photos to show the products as life-like as possible, but please understand the actual colour may vary slightly from your monitor.
