A YEAR AND A DAY ~ ISSUE 1 ~ EGGS BIRDS AND NESTS
Spring edition ~ Eggs, Birds and Nests
Our original magazine was devised in 2020 during the midst of the first nationwide lockdown, and was released as a pdf document. We decided it was apt to create our first magazine as a paper version, and throw in a few extra exercises and activities.
In this issue you'll find three full length stories, how to draw a goose, how to identify a bird nest, how to cook with nettles, how to make dandelion salt dough... and much more!
A Year and a Day is a Waldorf-inspired seasonal quarterly magazine for children that aims to lead children into the realm of traditional stories and out into the natural world around them through craft, artistic, movement, literacy and numeracy-based activities.
Each issue includes three full stories, fifteen story-based activities and several additional seasonally themed pages, including recipes, posters and quizzes.
Each issue has an average of forty pages, printed on high quality, uncoated paper, especially for drawing and writing on.
A Year and a Day aims to guide children into the inner world of traditional stories and out into the natural world around them.
It encourages both children and adults to use their natural capacity for imagination, creativity and invention through storytelling, painting, number work, drawing, crafting and writing.
A story is a living thing that no two people will hear or imagine in the same way.
At A Year and a Day we know that children learn in many different ways and at different paces.
That's why at A Year and a Day we think a story is the perfect place to begin a journey of discovering, learning and developing.
