Spring has sprung, flowers are growing and fairies flit and flutter from leaf to petal. All around us, shoots are appearing from the earth, as if by magic. Discover tales of flowers and fairies, of growing the most beautiful thing, and of why the seasons change in our Spring 2021 issue. A Year and a Day is a Waldorf-inspired seasonal quarterly magazine for children that aims to lead children into the realm of traditional stories and out into the natural world around them through craft, artistic, movement, literacy and numeracy-based activities.
Each issue includes three full stories, fifteen story-based activities and several additional seasonally themed pages, including recipes, posters and quizzes.
Each issue has an average of forty pages, printed on high quality, uncoated paper, especially for drawing and writing on.
A Year and a Day aims to guide children into the inner world of traditional stories and out into the natural world around them.
It encourages both children and adults to use their natural capacity for imagination, creativity and invention through storytelling, painting, number work, drawing, crafting and writing.
A story is a living thing that no two people will hear or imagine in the same way.
At A Year and a Day we know that children learn in many different ways and at different paces.
That's why at A Year and a Day we think a story is the perfect place to begin a journey of discovering, learning and developing.
What age group is the magazine aimed at?
AYAAD say that it is broadly aimed at primary school aged children. Although we do know that it has very wide appeal (adults also enjoy the creative activities!) and can be enjoyed from ages 3+
